Called to Witness
Throughout the sermon I will talk about what God expects from us, and
by knowing what He expects from us in scripture.

Introduction
It is necessary for every Christian to witness to receive the rewards from God.
Think about the rewards of witnessing; Blessings, Benefits, Protection from being obedient. Bringing people the word of Christ. Isn’t that why we are here in the first place?
Because of witnessing we can show God to all people.
Lets Begin……..

Stepping out of our comfort zone. How uncomfortable it can be.

Not easy to witness to all people:  Jonah/ Moses-
     Book of Jonah:
Jonah was called to witness.
He ran away from the Lord.
The Lord punished and delivered him.
Jonah witnessed and the people repented.

Like Jonah we are afraid sometimes, but God has our best interest at heart.

 Exdous 5:10-17
10 Moses said to the LORD, “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”
11 The LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
13 But Moses said, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.”
14 Then the LORD’s anger burned against Moses and he said, “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and his heart will be glad when he sees you. 15 You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do. 16 He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him. 17 But take this staff in your hand so you can perform miraculous signs with it.”

Moses was ‘soo” afraid to speak, he begged God to send someone else. And he gave him his brother for help.
When God says you must witness then it is up to us to follow through, like it or not.

Have faith God is with you:
Exdous 5:12
I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” (Moses not able to speak)
I believe if we ask for help he will grant it. He says he is there for us always and God is not a liar.
Matthew 28:20 (end sentence)
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (cool)
      We need to remember this…………
   Illustration:
Just like coming up here, I prayed God would tell me what to say and give me the strength   to stand up here.

Jesus came to save all, as we should Witness to all.

Jesus witnessed no matter who they were:

      Tax collectors & Prostitutes, “Sinners”
Mark 15:15-17 15While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and “sinners” were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the “sinners” and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?”
17On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Witnessing, doing Gods work, But hanging out with sinners could lead to trouble.

Make the most of “all opportunities”: (but know your audience)

     Colossians 4:5
5Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.

Questions to ask yourself:
How do you behave with and toward unbelievers?
Do you like them? Do you hate them?
Do you tolerate them? Are you concerned about their salvation?
Do you act like them when you aren’t in Christian company?
Do you snub them if they aren’t holy?
There are Christians who stand on street corners, in malls, and in front of abortion clinics to witness to unbelievers. Others just don’t care

one way or another.
Where do you fit in?
Do you share your faith using hugs or headlocks?
Or do you even share your faith at all?

We have tons on opportunities throughout the day to witness, it is up to us to choose to do so. Don’t let fear make you miss an opportunity to share Gods word. Let your discernment guide you for an open opportunity to witness.

We are “ALL” called to Witness:

Matthew 28 16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We are disciples, go and witness……………
Bringing people to Christ pleases the Lord.
Luke:15 8-10  The Parable of the Lost Coin:
8″Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

No matter where we are we can:

Shopping, Landry mat, Bank, Bathroom……
Where ever you are in contact with someone……

No matter who they are we “SHOULD”: (sinners)
Psalm 119:4-6  4 You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.  5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast
in obeying your decrees!  6 Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands.
You know what you need to do….no fear!

“Every knee will bow”, Lets witness to save all:
Before tribulation or after, Eventually every knee will bow “says the lord” as we read in  Romans:

Romans 14:11 11It is written:  ” ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;  every tongue will confess to God.’ ”
        Another…….
Isaiah45: 20-23
20 “Gather together and come;
assemble, you fugitives from the nations.
Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood,
who pray to gods that cannot save.
21 Declare what is to be, present it—
       let them take counsel together.
       Who foretold this long ago,
who declared it from the distant past?
Was it not I, the LORD ?
And there is no God apart from me,
       a righteous God and a Savior;
       there is none but me.
22 “Turn to me and be saved,
       all you ends of the earth;
for I am God, and there is no other.
23 By myself I have sworn,
my mouth has uttered in all integrity
a word that will not be revoked:
       Before me every knee will bow;
by me every tongue will swear.
We’d better get them saved now…..because we love them.

Therefore to have the rewards from God you must witness. We are all called to witness, how we go about it is up to us. Remember the lost coin…..
Lets keep that in mind….
Pray that we are called to witness and the strong holds are lifted so we can.
