So you want to be a Christian?
How will I get started?
Do I have to stop hanging around my friends?
What will my family think?
What is it all about?
How can I live up to the commandments?

These and others are very valid questions. Lets start from the beginning. You have decided to give your life to Jesus. You now have access to all Gods blessing he has been waiting to give you. An awesome feeling knowing that he will answer your prayers and take care of all your needs. Which he knows and wants to give.

Things change as you start reading the Bible and learning what God has in store for you. And yes your choice in friends won’t fit his plan; it is hard to think of changing friends. I think this the hardest thing for a new Christian. But if you really think about it, and be honest with yourself, you will see that these friends will keep you from getting close to God. Not all your friends want to do what they are doing” drinking to access, illegal drugs, they need something else to replace the emptiness they are trying to fill. That is where you come in you can be an example to others.

Lets talk a little about family. Family has a big influence on what you want to become. But if they are not Christians, they will have to accept you as you are, remember they are family they will continue to love as you are. Again you could be a witness and not even realize it. I m sorry if this sounds like it is the end of the world! But really it is, for your old self, by taking off your old dirty nasty coat (your old life) and putting on the new shiny coat of Christ. You have now transformed into the creature God has been waiting for.
Now what? I want to become a Christian what’s next you say. At this time you need to ask God for forgiveness for all your sins. It doesn’t matter how big or small they are all the same in Gods eyes. Ask him into your heart, this is how, the sinners(us) prayer:

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

If you are attending a Church ask if they have adult Sunday school classes before church most churches do. Ask if they have prayer meetings or any other gatherings to offer. This is a great place to meet other Christians. You just might be surprised who shows up, friends you never thought of. If going alone is not your thing, (not mine) ask a close friend or relative to go with you.
John 3:17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
You will quickly grow close to God with studying the Bible with church family. There is a lot of wisdom young and old. We all have different experiences with God and we share  it at ach study.
Truth is, being a Christian with fellow believers is easy, but in the fallen world that we live in it is not so easy. The devil has distorted the truth and basically brainwashed people to think he is good, and bad is a measure of how good life can be.
John 3:19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
How wrong is that! Remember God is Love and all he wants, is to show you the way it is suppose to be, not hurt you but save you from the devils lies and all a fallen world has to offer.
On the Ten Commandments, God knows we cannot live up to them; he gave these to the people to show them that they needed a savoir “Jesus Christ”. He dose expect us to try.
I hope this helps you understand Gods plans for you. You will do awesome things in his name I just know it. Chin-up!
