Showing “Humility, Compassion, Gratefulness”
Lets start by not letting Pride be in the picture, this could be a reason for not trying. Starting with Humility,
Romans 12 spoke about exhorted humility, love, and good works.
Self- denial, gentleness, meekness are all part of humility.
I found 16 scriptures that had the word humility in them. One that’s stands out to me in reference is;
 Proverbs 11:2 When prides comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
From the scriptures we don’t want disgrace but to be Grateful. This is another topic I would like to speak on. I
found no scriptures with the word grateful in them. But I did find the words gratify and gratitude, three scriptures
for gratify and two for gratitude. This is what it says of the word gratify, Lets take a look;
Galatians 5:16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
From the scripture we are asked, not to gratify in sinful nature. Do not satisfy, welcome, or be thankful. That is
what they were using the word for then.
Lets not forget about the word gratitude, they are all somewhat meaning the same, being appreciative.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom,
and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
Compassion is another word I would like to talk on. Having gentleness and sympathy toward someone. The bible had
eighty-eight scriptures on the word compassion. Must have been important having said it so many times through the
bible. Lets take a look;
Deuteronomy 30:3 then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you.
Deuteronomy 32:36 The Lord will judge his people and have compassion on his servants when he sees their strength is
gone and no one is left, slave or free.
 So always having humility and being grateful and having compassion to all the people we meet and keeping pride at
bay. This is probably the greatest thing we could do in the eyes of Christ. Think about this for a minute, Christ is
all about LOVE right! Isn’t this God showing us how it is done!  Showing all these things being done to others so we
can in turn do the right thing by him. Always keeping pride at bay.
